Calculating power of Proform exercise bike

 Power Calculation

I have recently acquired several used (non-functional) treadmills for free(!!!).  They come with a great DC motor, loads of steel, awesome rollers, bearings, fasteners, etc.  Sorry, getting distracted...

I intend to use the motor from one treadmill to measure the power input required to drive the flywheel of the Proform le Tour de France exercise bike.  I plan to measure at various speeds and resistance levels and hopefully find a formula that allows me to calculate the instantaneous power at any cadence and resistance level.  I thought I'd try to use the method presented by Jeremy Fielding when he did a YouTube video on How to Measure the Horse Power of electric motors.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Pd0lUKWe7o

 Stay tuned!
